AV-Rating

Mark Kodner, Albert Watkins, Todd Muchnick, Andrew Weigley, Mark Sanders, Nancy Watkins, Bud Wittels and Joseph Kloecker, Jr have all earned an AV-Rating (the highest rating possible) from the respected legal guide Martindale-Hubbell in recognition of their highly regarded legal skills and professional ethics.
An AV rating is a significant accomplishment and indicates that a lawyer is ranked by peers at the highest level of professional excellence. Generally a law firm is given the ranking of its highest rated partner - we are proud that no less than eight of our attorneys have been singled out for this honor.
Martindale-Hubbell ratings are the result of a peer review system that has evolved for over a century. Ratings speak to a lawyer's professional and legal ability and ethics. They reflect the opinions of members of the Bar and Judiciary. In large metropolitan areas, a lawyer usually must have been admitted to the Bar for a minimum of 10 years before he or she qualifies for a Martindale-Hubbell rating.
The Martindale-Hubbel rating consists of two parts. The first is the Legal Ability Rating which takes into consideration the standard of professional ability in the area where the lawyer practices, the lawyer's expertise and other professional qualifications. A lawyer's Legal Ability is rated on the following scale:
A - Very High to Preeminent
B - High to Very High
C - Good to High
The second part of the Martindale-Hubbell rating is the General Ethical Standards Rating. This rating indicates a lawyer's adherences to professional standards of conduct and ethics, reliability and diligence. There is only one General Ethical Standards Rating, which is V - Very High. Kodner Watkins, Muchnick, Weigley and Brison is proud of our attorneys and the AV-Rating they've earned, and is committed to providing our clients with the highest level of service and expertise required to maintain such preeminent standing in the legal community.
